Bio 
My Inspiration
I've been working in ceramics for about 10 years, creating story book-like characters and vignettes. For the robot characters on this site, I'm pulling inspiration from some comics and video games I loved as a kid - Mega Man, Astro Boy - I was always impressed by the look and style of these stories, and that they dabbled in much bigger themes of what really makes us human. Plus, guns for arms.
The Process
When I realized that thrown pottery could easily replicate that sleek, rounded geometric style of these amazing robots, I couldn't stay away from the wheel. Cups and bowls became arms and legs, and pretty soon my ceramic robot army started filling up my studio. So I hope you enjoy my homage to these characters and styles with this robot series.
